二○二三年六月十三日,「根繫何處:流離失所後的慈悲共渡—慈濟國際難民援助特展」在紐約慈濟大愛人文中心開幕。這次展覽前後策劃籌備了8個月,並積極地與社會眾多具有影響力的機構展開合作,在開幕後獲得了廣泛的社會關注。展覽生動地呈現了一九七九─二○二三年慈濟不間斷的國際難民援助,體現了跨越國境和宗教信仰的大愛精神。
慈濟大愛人文中心於二○二三年下半年策劃「根繫何處:慈濟國際難民援助特展」展覽紀念冊的出版。改畫冊作為本次展覽的客觀記錄,也對慈濟「難民援助」這個主題展開更深層次、多角度的敘述。同時,本畫冊也如同一個永不落幕的展覽,以全球發行出版物的形式,將慈濟四十多年的不間斷的全球救援行動所帶來的積極的影響力,以及佛教「無緣大慈,同體大悲」精神,傳播到社會中去。
這本畫冊既是展覽的記錄,也是社會科學類別中值得研究的一項書籍案例。慈濟作為一個以佛教思想為依託的非盈利慈善機構,對全世界不同種族和信仰的群體發出長達四十餘年的援助並且與之產生的更深層次的連結,慈濟的經驗以及精神都具有很高的展示價值。

On June 13, 2023, "Uprooted: Tzu Chi Global Refugee Relief” Special Exhibition opened at the Tzu Chi Great Love Humanities Center in New York. This exhibition took 8 months of planning and preparation, and we actively cooperated with many influential institutions in society. After its opening, it gained widespread social attention. The exhibition vividly presents Tzu Chi’s uninterrupted international refugee assistance from 1979 to 2023, embodying the spirit of universal love that transcends national borders and religious beliefs.
In the second half of 2023, the Tzu Chi Great Love Humanities Center planned the publication of a commemorative booklet for the exhibition "Where Are the Roots: A Special Exhibition on Tzu Chi's International Refugee Assistance". The revised album serves as an objective record of this exhibition and also provides a deeper and multi-angle narrative on Tzu Chi’s theme of “refugee assistance”. At the same time, this album is like a never-ending exhibition. In the form of a globally distributed publication, it combines the positive influence brought by Tzu Chi’s continuous global relief operations for more than 40 years, as well as the Buddhist “Unconditional Compassion, The spirit of "One Body and Great Compassion" spreads into society.
This catalog is both a record of the exhibition and a case study worthy of study in the social sciences category. As a non-profit charity organization based on Buddhist thought, Tzu Chi has provided assistance to groups of different races and faiths around the world for more than 40 years and has developed deeper connections with them.
