The Thirty-seven principles of ENLIGHTENMENT
Sakyamuni, the Buddha, appeared in the human world to save people. As disciples of the Buddha, we should imitate his great compassion and enter deeply into the wisdom of the dharma. What Buddhism seeks is the truth of the universe, and the purpose of following the Buddha is to realize that truth. This means that we must thoroughly study the dharma and put it into practice.
There are different ways to learn Buddhism, and they are not especially profound or mysterious. What we need to do is to understand the true meaning of the Buddha’s teachings and carry them out. The Thirty-seven Principles of Enlightenment are the Buddha’s basic teachings for our spiritual cultivation. They can help us explore the dharma and to comprehend the way to buddhahood.
